Audiobooks are a great way to effectively use commute time to work.

I totally remember my first books on tape… checking them out of the library and trying to listen to all the tapes before returning the book on time. That started my love of audiobooks and using my commute time to fill my mind with good books!

One of my favorite Zig Ziglar quotes: “Turn your car into a university ” has stuck with me for years. I take the opportunity to listen to audiobooks as often as possible… otherwise I probably wouldn’t consume 25% of the books I want to read. If I waited to actually sit down and read all the books I want to read, I wouldn’t get very far through my book list! Thank goodness for audiobooks that help me to plug in and listen as I commute, iron clothes, exercise, etc.

Podcast focusing on inspiration that guides us in all aspects of our business and personal lives.

While I love business books and recently am listening to Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande, I also really enjoy listening to fiction books… especially if there is a great moral to the story. A beautiful example of this is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. There are a lot of great stories to add to our minds and I find myself filled up in a much better way than listening to the news that seems to only be filled with negativity and sensationalism!

Another great option for turning your car into a university, is to listen to podcasts. There are a lot of podcasts that cover more topics than fathomable! Check out my new podcast, 3am With God, where I share tips and techniques for bringing God back into the workplace. I also have awesome guests who share examples of how God has prompted them in their work and business.
