On this episode of Career Central – the Podcast, I wanted to get into what it means to be a life-long learner. I share some key points about what you can do to easily keep learning and growing.
To be clear, I do NOT suggest that you need to go back to college and get another degree. Few working moms have that kind of time. But, if you do need it, then there are ways to plan for that kind of of a deep dive into getting another college degree (or maybe your first!).
What I do get into on the Finding Your Purpose Through Life-Long Education show, are some quick and actionable tips for how you can continue to grow and learn… and why you want to do that. There are many reasons for continuing to learn, but as working Christian moms, I think it’s always a good idea to get direction from the bible. Here are two different scriptures that really resonate with me about ongoing and continued learning:
Proverbs 4:13 “Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.”
Proverbs 16:16 “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!”
Education is a great thing. We are lucky to have so much good in our lives – clean water, relatively safe communities, family, friends, etc. Let us continue to grow and learn so that we can be good examples to others around us – perhaps the best example to the children in our families.
