“One of the odd things about being a CEO is that you’re a generalist. Being really good as a CEO means you’re not the best at anything.” – Jerry Rudisin
Leadership isn’t about having all the answers.
On the latest episode of Today’s Top Leaders, Jerry Rudisin shares the valuable lessons he’s learned as the CEO of four startup companies and how those lessons can impact your future as a tech leader.
Jerry Rudisin is the CEO and a co-founder of Backdrop Health, Inc., a digital health company launched in Salt Lake City in 2020. Backdrop has created a breakthrough in precise, actionable medical outcome predictions from a new way of computing modern electronic medical records. Backdrop’s solution is intended for pharmaceutical companies that want to accelerate their clinical trials, front-line health care providers, and insurers and payers. It can improve the health of hundreds of millions and cut the cost of health care.
Jerry is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at The University of Utah. He has been focused since mid-2017 on life sciences, an area of world-class innovation from The U, The U Hospitals, and the associated Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Listen in as Jerry and I discuss the importance of creating high trust teams, being an open leader, and why it isn’t the CEO’s job to know everything. And learn the key components you need to create a high trust team and how that transparency can make you a great CEO.
